With the Great North Run taking place this week – Sunday 7th September – there’s definitely a buzz building up. Whether you’re taking part in the race itself or cheering on friends and family as they take to the track, there’s always a way you can get involved and be part of this fantastic event.
With the first staging of the race all the way back in 1981 with 12,000 runners, it now attracts approximately 56,000 runners each year. The course starts in Newcastle, makes its way through to Gateshead and finishes in South Shields, where the runners are overwhelmed with achievement, triumph and emotional sentiment. Each and every runner is running for a cause; a cause close to their heart, so it’s an important day for everyone involved – every runner is running with passion.
Perhaps you’re setting yourself a personal goal, or maybe you’re joining in for fun and to raise money for charity; whatever your reason, make sure you prepare yourself beforehand. With the race drawing near, you’re sure to have followed a strict training plan to get your body ready! But in the vital few days leading up to the big day, make sure you continue to eat healthy, drink lots of water and stick to your fitness plan. Just a few more days and then you can relax!
So get ready to run in the footsteps of Paula Radcliffe and give Mo Farah a run for his money in the Great North Run and take an unforgettable experience away with you.

A small issue with stored details was resolved quickly and effectively by both the tutor and customer services via phone and email.
Everyone was very helpful and it was all easy to understand with no confusing words or phrases. I would definitely recommend The Training Room.
I’ve just literally started my journey as a PT and so far so good, Scott the gentlemen who was setting me up in the beginning did an amazing job! And just want to say to the team thanks for having such great services like the course I chose for people wanting more out of life and a change of career made easier.
I didn't feel pressure to sign up there and then, very helpful and informative
very helpful staff that are kind and patient enough to help you through whatever concerns you might be having.
My sales rep was incredibly helpful and polite, and they answered any questions I had very clearly. Additionally, the cost of the course seemed fair for the amount of content provided
So far very happy
I gave 5 stars as there is the right amount of contact without being pressured. The actual course is well set out and interesting in the different ways used to deliver the information.
Everything was very clear and well explained every time I spoke to anyone. They knew exactly what they were speaking about making the experience much more enjoyable and much simpler than the other companies I was considering using for my Personal Training course.
