World Champion Men's Omnium, European Champion Men's Team Pursuit, 2009 Tour Series, 2008 Olympic Champion, 2008 World Champion and World Record holder in Men's 4km Team Pursuit.
Ed is a key member of the awe inspiring GB Men's 4km Team Pursuit squad that have destroyed their recent competition and taken the event onto a new level.
Ed has a unique blend of pure speed and endurance and is Man One in the Team Pursuit - his job is to get the team up to speed as quickly and as smoothly as possible over the first one and a half laps of the race.
The 4km squad of Ed, Geraint Thomas, Paul Manning and Bradley Wiggins have blown away their competition smashing the world record on route to a stunning and crushing defeat of Denmark in the Olympic Final.
Ed also underlined his all round cycling potential by winning the 2009 Tour Series on the road and then winning his first individual World title at the 2010 World Championships in Denmark. This was boosted by another Gold at the European's in Poland and a brace of Bronze medals at the World Cup in Melbourne. Ed is hoping to carry this momentum into 2011 with his new team "Rapha-Condor-Sharp" which will be an exciting build up to the 2012 Games.
My Gold medal at the 2008 Olympics was phenomenal, we broke the World Record and were part of a team that won nearly everything. The pressure is on now to do the same again in London and me and the boys are working extra hard so as not to disappoint.

"I have recently finished an 8 day long training camp in Majorca, example of a typical day would be 5 hours road riding with track specific efforts....standing starts, capacity efforts, intervals and team time trials.
Hopefully I'll recover a little bit by next Saturday when we ride the National Madison Championships (partnered with Andy Tennant), followed by a Revolution race a few hours later. Those will be the first races for my new team Rapha Condor Sharp so fingers crossed for starting off on the right foot!
The biggest thing on the horizon at this time of year is the Track World Championships where I'll be looking to defend the Omnium World title at the end of March, but before that we have the Manchester round of the World Cup series in February..... we don't get a chance to compete at International level in front of a home crowd on the track very often and everyone is motivated for doing something special in the Team Pursuit.
Looking ahead to the road season, I'd like to win as many criterium as possible, go for a third overall team win in the Tour series and retain the National criterium title.
I feel that i made good progress last year with my road racing (more specificaly my climbing) and I'd like to continue that trend too. I feel that the switch to Rapha Condor Sharp will give me plenty of opportunity to gain more experience in International road racing with a long term view of being a full time road professional after the London 2012 Olympics."
