We have today announced our intention to train more than 10,000 students across fitness, beauty and hospitality over the next three years, following significant industry demand for our courses.
Having operated within the fitness industry since 2006, this move marks the business’ transition from single to multi-sector operator as part of a strategic five-year growth plan.
Jonathan Davies, founder and CEO here at The Training Room, said: “The Training Room was launched to meet an immediate business need, supporting gyms struggling to recruit ‘industry-ready’ professionals with fast-track training to plug the fitness industry skills gap.
“Today, the same need exists within beauty and hospitality sectors; our partners are crying out for skilled, customer-facing employees that are ready today, not in three years’ time. In a climate where traditional academic routes into work are failing young people, we’re moving into multiple sectors to meet industry needs and give thousands more people a genuine route into employment and a meaningful career, quickly.”
The Training Room’s expansion comes on the back of 12 months of unprecedented success for the Poole-headquartered company, which operates 29 dedicated training academies across the UK. In June, it reported record revenue of £8.5 million for financial year ending May 2013, a year-on-year increase of more than nine percent. At the close of 2013 the business announced a £20 million investment from mid-market private equity house, LDC, designed to accelerate The Training Room’s growth and facilitate its expansion into new markets.
Davies continued: “We’ve established a highly successful business model that has seen us dominate the fitness industry, creating thousands of skilled professionals and opening doors to job opportunities with big name health clubs.
“2014 will see us apply this innovative approach to a broader range of sectors; beauty and catering is just the beginning. We’re aiming to becoming the first name in fast-track vocational training across a wide range of professions. The next few years will be vital in realising this goal, but we have the investment, the expertise and the appetite to get there.”
Our beauty courses begin in June, following that our catering courses will commence in 2015.
