So you’ve made it through weeks’ of endless revision and exams – at last you can relax! With your unconditional uni offers to one side, all that’s left to do is wait to see what August 15th has in store.
For most, the waiting game can be a nerve-racking time. Student or parent, determining how to spend the next three years of your life is a huge decision. That’s hopefully where we can help.
The hard work’s been done; once you know your results it’s just a simple case of taking the right steps. If you’re unsure of your options, here’s a quick breakdown.
Choose for you
First and foremost, remember that university isn’t for everybody. If college has put you off academic life for good, it isn’t the end of the world – there’s always an alternative.
Summer is a great time to re-evaluate what you actually want to do. Perhaps a part-time job has given you a taste for working life? Maybe you like the idea of taking one our Personal Trainer Courses, a real break from the 9 to 5. Whatever your career dream, there’s nothing stopping you from getting there.
Always be prepared
We hate to say it, but it’s essential that you have a backup plan. Fingers crossed everything goes okay, but in the eventuality that it doesn’t, you’ll know exactly what to do on results day.
Research! If you’ve a career in mind, do the groundwork and find out what it takes to land your perfect job. Perhaps an apprenticeship would be a better route; work experience that gets you on the right track.
Maybe you’d benefit from a Gap Year. Exploring new cities and experiencing new cultures is a great way to gain perspective, and discover what you really want in life.
