Ready For Your Results?

Girls jumping in the air with their exam results
With Result’s Day on the horizon, now’s the time to think what your ideal career might be. Whether you've a dream job in mind or not, it’s important that you’re happy with the path you take. Your future isn't something that should be decided on whim. Just because you’re friends are heading to university, doesn't mean it’s the best option for you.

Perhaps you like the idea of further training, but uni doesn't have that appeal? Here are a few alternatives to higher education.

Higher Apprenticeships

One option to consider is an apprenticeship. These are ideal for those who prefer a more proactive approach to learning and work-based programmes.

Higher Apprenticeships are designed to provide a 'higher' level of professional skills and technical know-how acquired for the workplace. They are equivalent ‘to a higher education certificate, higher education diploma or a foundation degree’ (Level 4 and above). There are no minimum requirements for Higher Apprenticeships as it varies from employer to employer.

If you believe you’re better suited to this work environment, it isn't too late. Research the area you’re interested in and go from there. If there’s a trading organisation you’d like to work for, it’s well worth getting in touch to see if they've apprenticeship schemes available.

Alternative Professional Qualifications

If you can’t find an apprenticeship to suit you, there are still options. Take our Fast Track Personal Trainer Course for instance. Rather than waiting three years for a qualification, our personal training courses take a mere 6 weeks to complete. Following this, you’re fully accredited and all set to start a profession you love. It’s the perfect option for those who are eager to kick-start their career and earn some money.

If you’re still unsure where you want your A-level results to take you, head to Not Going To Uni. It’s packed with great advice to get you thinking. Good luck!
