We all know choosing our beauty products can be a challenging experience. With a variety of brands under one roof, we find ourselves trialling each product to find the perfect one.
However, whilst we’re looking for which products will last longer, and the more cost effective brand, we aren't looking at whether our favourite beauty brands stock organic make up.
There’s quite a difference between organic and non-organic make-up, and the key for spotting the differences is to look at the ingredient lists on your products packaging.
We’ve looked into the difference between organic and non-organic make-up, and the effects that it can have on your skin:
What is organic make-up?
Organic make up is organically sourced from plants to naturally formulate make-up without any genetically modified organisms and ingredients. Authentic organic make-up should not be formulated with any harsh chemicals, parbens, fragrances, synthetic colours or preservatives, and also look out for any genetically modified ingredients. They should also state that they were not tested on animals and are 100% cruelty free. If you aren’t unable to determine whether your product is organic, then try to look for certification from USDA or another credible organic certification body.
The impact that organic make-up has on skin
Switching to organically based products with natural ingredients can have a huge impact on the overall appearance and feel of skin. Natural cosmetics are a safer and healthier alternative, especially those that are entirely derived from organic ingredients.
Most of us from one time to the other have suffered with skin irritation, or a bout of acne that has been difficult to clear. Many skin problems begin from being fed harmful chemicals, which are in your cosmetics and skincare regime. Applying these chemicals onto our skin everyday can cause some serious irritations, or imperfections on skin that can be difficult to remove.
Why switch to organic make-up?
Replacing your chemically infused cosmetics to natural products can be simple and effective on skin. Not only are you improving the condition of your skin, organic make-up is also environmentally friendly and 100% cruelty free on animals.
For make-up artists on the hunt for new products and those looking to switch to an organic filled make-up bag, we’ve listed some of the best brands to switch to.
