The main role of a TA is to provide assistance to the teacher – you are assigned a teacher at the beginning of term and will work together throughout the academic year. The teacher will have identified students who need extra help – you’ll work with them individually or in small groups to complete their work with the extra supervision they need to flourish. Depending on the school you’re working with, you may specialise your support to numeracy, literacy or Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Your career as a Teaching Assistant can be developed in a variety of ways - you have the freedom to choose which age group you work with (Nursery education, Primary schools, Secondary schools or colleges) and what area you’d prefer to specialise in. These areas include:
Special Education Needs (SEN), Behavioural Specialist, Autism Specialist or ADHD Specialist.

Looked into doing the course I am currently on for weeks before contacting was phoned at the exact time I requested and was given a through description of what it entails and what I would need to do and how the training room would provide support. I spoke to zafer who even rang me back at a time when he was supposed to go home so I could sign up at home as I was out at the original time of calling he was supportive friendly and helpful. Spoke to my career support after that she explained to me all the chances that would be available to me and how she was going to help me again absolutely amazing knowledge and support. Lastly I spoke to my tutor Dave who gave me his email and phone number aswell as a list of extra materials to help me with my course. In summary I would say that the training room is a fantastic way to online learn ecspecially as a busy adult and that they explained everything to me with great detail and never pressured or forced me to do anything truly amazing company would consider doing other courses in the future.
