Personal Training Success Stories: Carl

Carl - Personal Training

Turning a negative experience into a positive opportunity!

Carl was working as a team leader for his previous employer, but he was unhappy in his role and felt restricted and unable to progress. When his situation changed after being made redundant, he refused to let the opportunity to do something worthwhile pass him by.

Carl has been a fitness enthusiast for 17 years and always dreamed of being a personal trainer. His love of fitness has always been a huge part of his life and after being unhappy and feeling held back at work, it was vital that Carl’s next move was entering career he’d really love, with room to grow and develop his business. After speaking to some friends that had graduated from The Training Room’s courses, Carl was recommended the fast-track personal trainer course to help him reach his goals and ambitions.

Carl was serious about his future and decided to use the money he received from his redundancy to pay for his fast-track personal trainer course. Here’s what he had to say about his experience on his course: “My tutor was fantastic, we got on really well and his teaching style really suited me. As I had been training for 17 years I have quite a bit of experience in fitness, but I still found the extra detail you cover on the course really interesting and was able to learn lots of new things!”.

After successfully graduating his fast-track personal training course, Carl was able to start working in the fitness industry straight away. We checked in with him to see how he’s been getting on: Carl said “I only started working at PureGym a few weeks ago and I’m already running a number of classes like Spin, Toning and Fat Burning! I’m really enjoying my new career and I’m excited to see where it takes me. I’m so glad I had the courage to make the career change!”.

We asked him if he had any advice for anyone thinking of becoming a personal trainer, here’s what Carl had to say: “If fitness is something you love and you believe in yourself, why not try it, what have you got to lose?!”
