Personal Training Success Stories: Ariana

Ariana - Personal Training

Why did you decide to become a qualified Personal Trainer with The Training Room?

I was fed up of being in an office all the time and I have always been active – I’m sure I’m not the only one! I am at my happiest when I’m active, so I thought becoming a Personal Trainer would be perfect for me. I wanted to turn what makes me happy into my career.

How did you find fitting the course around your personal life?

I took the decision to give up my old career to focus solely on studying. That meant I wasn’t distracted by work. Since I started the course everyone around me has noticed I’ve developed a new energy and seem happier than ever – this course has fully benefitted my personal life rather than making it a struggle to learn!

What were you doing before the course?

I originally studied Fine Arts at university and when I graduated I started working with autistic adults. From there I started working for the NHS and worked my way up to become a Manager at a hospital. I found working in an office draining: I’d sit at my desk all day and felt like I’d lost all my energy. I knew then that I needed to change my career and do something that I enjoy.

What are you doing now you've finished your course with The Training Room?

I am about to start a new role at PureGym as a Personal Trainer. I’ll be running large variety of classes such as spin, abs circuits, body pump and body combat as well as having my own personal clients to train. I can’t wait to get started!

What did you enjoy about the course?

I thought the tutors I had were great, they were full of knowledge and had so much enthusiasm for what they were teaching us. They seemed to really care about us and wanted us to succeed.

I also really enjoyed the programme design module in the course - it involved a creative element that I loved. It was great to take something I’d learnt practically in the classroom and put it into practice with a variety of clients.

How did you find the career support?

My career support officer was lovely! She was friendly, enthusiastic and helped me secure this role at PureGym…I couldn’t fault her one bit!

What advice would you give anyone thinking of becoming a Personal Trainer?

Believe in the product! Confidence is key, if you have the right mindset you will succeed.
