Our Childcare Course has been developed to give you an understanding of child development, welfare and safeguarding theories and practices which will enable you to work towards becoming a competent practitioner of childcare.
Throughout the course, you will build your knowledge of the legislation that surrounds working in a childcare setting, and how you can apply this to working practice going forward. The course, and the certificate awarded upon successful completion, is recognised by OFSTED, so you will be well positioned to enter the childcare industry!
Our Childcare Course is paper-based, so it’s really never been easier to develop your knowledge and understanding to achieve the career you’re passionate about. If you’re looking to develop your skills, and are ready to move your career into the childcare sector, this course could be what you’ve been waiting for!
Throughout the course, you will be working to achieve the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (England); this means you’ll be making fervent strides to becoming a competent practitioner of childcare. The QCF qualification for this course has now replaced the NNEB NVQ qualification.
During your studies, you will be building your foundational knowledge to prepare you for the childcare industry. This means when you’ve completed your learning, you will be positioned to start working in a number of exciting roles, from Nursery Assistant to Nanny!
As the course is paper-based, you won’t have to worry about getting yourself to an Academy or attending classes; you can learn when it suits you, at a pace that’s convenient to your lifestyle. That means if you have work and family commitments, you’ll still be able to develop your skills and progress through the course - you can pick it up as and when you’re able to.
It’s recommended that the average completion time for our Childcare Course is 300 hours, which equates to between 4-8 months. This is an approximate figure, as it solely depends on how much time you can dedicate to your studies, and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course materials.
The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (England) follows 13 units, which have been designed by NCC and approved under the current OCF framework. You will work through the units outlined below, and will submit coursework after each unit for your tutor to review and mark. Your tutor will be allocated by our supplier for this qualification, NCC Home Learning.
Below are the units of study for the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (England):
Many of the units require placement. You are required to complete 50 hours of work experience as part of the course; it is your responsibility to find suitable placement, and is not the responsibility of The Training Room.
