Our Students - Phil White's Story

Ever since I was young lad I have always been bullied and teased for my weight, however I have always been a keen sportsman, taking part in football, cricket, and badminton and becoming a national finalist in boxing. From the age of 16 I was always interested in coaching sport and wanted to work in the leisure industry. It wasn’t until I saw The Training Room course advertised that I decided it was time for a change.

Foods to Avoid Before Hitting the Gym

Whether you’re a fully fledged personal trainer, thinking about undertaking personal training courses or just like to work out to your best ability at the gym, then you’ll know that there’s nothing more off-putting than working out on an upset stomach or feeling light-headed and tired after a few minutes in the gym because you’ve eaten the wrong thing.

In my last blog I said that I wanted a memorable Olympic Games. Well it certainly was memorable but unfortunately not necessarily for the reasons that I wished for!

Richard Carrel – Bournemouth RFC

I am a specialist loosehead, though I played my highest level of rugby at tighthead. Some say, oh well they can't be that different! Trust me they are, ask my neck! I am now in my mid 30′s and coming towards the end of my playing career. The natural progression for me would be a move into coaching.

Ed Clancy - London 2012

Life has been very different post games. The constant thoughts of eating well, sleeping well and training 100% seem like a distant memory for starters! Although Im still riding my bike, the media, catching up with friends and family and enjoying other aspects of life have been the priority.

Beth-Tweddle
Beth Tweddle - London 2012

Well a lot has happened since I last wrote to you all. The past month has been a bit of a blur. The Olympics was the most amazing experience. London did a fantastic job and I hope that you all got to watch it. I wasn't sure what to expect, even though I have been to two Olympics before I was still a bit unsure with it being a home Games. The atmosphere around London and within the village was something that will never be replicated.

2012
London 2012 Summary

The London 2012 Olympics finally came to an end on Sunday night at the spectacular musical closing ceremony. The Olympics has seen an exhilarating 16 days of competition that has united Great Britain, the world of sport, and has had us all on the edge of our seats. We can't help but agree with Lord Coe who said on Sunday "When our time came at Britain, we did it right."
