You will be assessed using a variety of methods: the completion of two theory papers for the level 2 qualification and two for the level 3 qualification, two practical assessments (one at level 2 and one at level 3) and four worksheets which cover the remaining units across both qualifications. You will need to attend one of our academies, (date and location to be agreed with your tutor) in order to complete the theory papers and practical assessments. Your tutor will be able to provide you with a variety of dates for both. Alternatively you can choose to film your session, create a DVD, and send it to your tutor for assessment. We do have specific criteria your DVD must adhere to in order to take this option.
Approximately 150 – 200 hours for level 2 and 250 – 300 hours for level 3. The recommended total duration of the course is, therefore, 3 - 12 months.
We promise to respond to your enquiry within 48 hours (excluding weekends). Your tutor will be available during office hours and, if arranged in advanced, will be available some weekends and evenings.
If you have any questions, queries or problems, get in touch with your online tutor who will be able to assist you through a number of means, e.g. webcam.
Videos demonstrating a selection of exercises are available within the pre-course learning section in the online student area to assist you with the practical side of the course. They demonstrate correct techniques and state some of the teaching points required when performing each exercise. Once you have watched these, you must practice them frequently in order to obtain the correct technique. We suggest that you attend a gym on a regular basis whilst studying with us in order to perfect your exercise technique.
No, but it is preferable that you do have one.
We recommend that you attend a minimum of one per month but we would encourage you to do more than this to gain a full understanding of the topics covered.
Any work submitted by e-mail will be marked and returned within 72 hours.
Any work sent by post will take up to 7 days after the date received.
All re-sits are free.
There is no limit on the number of times you can re-sit but we will offer you extra support if we feel you require it. Due to the nature of this style of learning (limited face to face contact) the emphasis is very much on you to ensure you dedicate adequate time to learning the topics and revising over them before an exam is taken.
This is so we can verify who you are.
It will be beneficial for you to "practice what you preach" as it gives a good impression to clients and will show them instantly that you understand what's involved and put it into practice yourself.
We strongly suggest that you have some gym experience in order to be able to execute the exercises correctly. Having experience will give you a better understanding of what an exercise programme consists of. If you are not currently a member of a gym we would recommend joining one to assist you with your studies.
You will get 20 points for Level 2 and 20 points for level 3.
No, it is the students responsibility to register themselves with REPs.
Basic computer skills will be beneficial when enrolling on the e-learning as it involves a lot of time online/on the computer.
